Questions and answers

What is a Konditormeister?

A Konditormeister translated literally is a Master Confectioner. The qualification does not exist in Britain but means a master craftsman of any food involving sugar. It is necessary under German Law to gain a mastership to be entitled to open a bakery, shop or to train apprentices; no qualifications are necessary to do this in Britain.

A Konditormeister is the highest qualified that a Konditor can be in his/her craft and demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and expertise in this field.

Which types of cakes and fillings will you make for me?

As a Konditormeister with 19 years' experience, Falko can make almost any cake you like.

We make all our cakes, fillings and decorations ourselves using traditional methods and natural ingredients so can fine-tune each component of your cake to your individual taste.

For inspiration, look at our list of sample cakes on our product page.

What about food allergies?

We regularly make gluten-free, lactose-free and egg-free cakes (understanding the chemistry of food and the purpose of each ingredient helps us to select substitutes). We use nuts in our bakery and, unfortunately, cannot yet make any products guaranteed to be nut-free.
